Strong and daring men who with wisdom love peace...

From the foreword of Theodore Roosevelt's Autobiography...

It seems to me that, for the nation as for the individual, what is most important is to insist on the vital need of combining certain sets of qualities, which separately are common enough, and, alas, useless enough. Practical efficiency is common, and lofty idealism not uncommon; it is the combination which is necessary, and the combination is rare. Love of peace is common among weak, short-sighted, timid, and lazy persons; and on the other hand courage is found among many men of evil temper and bad character. Neither quality shall by itself avail. Justice among the nations of mankind, and the uplifting of humanity, can be brought about only by those strong and daring men who with wisdom love peace, but who love righteousness more than peace.

Even a fool...

Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise.. Prov 17:28

Monmouth Illinois Tax Day Tea Party

For more information see our main site: http://monmouthilteapartyday.blogspot.com/

The purpose for the Monmouth Tea Party

Our goal with this event is to create a rumbling never before seen in this part of the country by rallying thousands of concerned citizens from Monmouth and the surrounding area to attend our Tea Party event. The local movement was started by some Monmouthians who have a vision and believe that the American people still run the show. Their goal is to rally thousands of area citizens around our cause with the goal that our government not only gets the message from New York, Washington, and Atlanta, but Monmouth as well. We will rally numbers of a magnitude that will require local media coverage at our event.
Let’s show the nation that the West-Central Illinois won’t accept less than our forefathers provided for us in our Constitution.

AwakenGeneration.com | Be Fueled | Fossils: Fact or Fallacy?

Science journalist Richard Milton, who is not a Christian, sums up the evidence for ape-to-human evolution from the fossil record: “The position today is that all fossil remains which were previously assigned some intermediate status between apes and humans have later been definitely reassigned into the categories of either extinct ape or human, and this reassignment has been accepted by all but the most fanatical devotees of this or that fossil…the missing link is still missing"

Doing Darwin's Math: Not Enough Time For Evolution

Doing Darwin's Math: Not Enough Time For Evolution -
February 01, 2009

"On the one hand we're supposed to believe that the Darwinian mechanism converted a proto-insect into a stunning array of radically different life forms ... well within the space of 400 million years. But on the other hand, when we actually do the math we find that a single insignificant conversion of binding sites would reasonably be expected to consume all of that time." Biologic Institute

The Drowning Cry - Leonard Ravenhill

"Could a mariner sit idle if he heard the drowning cry? Could a doctor sit in comfort and just let his patients die? Could a fireman sit idle, let men burn and give no hand? Can you sit at ease in Zion with the world around you damned?"

Hear... Turn... Then...

I was reading Jeremiah 36 this morning and this verse has stuck...

"Perhaps the house of Judah will hear all the calamity which I plan to bring on them, in order that every man will turn from his evil way; then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin."
-- Jeremiah 36:3
I added the bolds...

Clarke on Jeremiah 36:3
It may be that the house of Judah will hear - It was yet possible to avert the judgments which had been so often denounced against them. But in order to this they must -
1. Hear what God has spoken.
2. Every man turn from his evil way.
3. If they do so, God graciously promises to forgive their iniquity and their sin.

Have you done the first two?
