NBC program - The Book of Daniel

NBC program - The Book of Daniel

On January 6, NBC will begin a new series entitled The Book of Daniel.

While the public has not seen the program, NBC is promoting "The Book of Daniel" as a serious drama about Christian people and the Christian faith. The main character is Daniel Webster, a drug-addicted Episcopal priest whose wife depends heavily on her mid-day martinis.

I have started seeing promo's for this show. This is very concerning to me. If this was about some other religious group such as a Muslim or Jew, about some other 'class' such as a homosexual, black, or Hispanic, there would be an outrage.

Buffalo station WGRTV channel 2 NBC affiliate and its advertisers will be boycotted by me. If possible will set up a block on my TV for Chanel 2
If they followed the bible but to have a professed homosexual direct it I cannot stomach it. All Christians should protest such crap on the air.

If you feel that this show should be boycotted because a homosexual directed it I am curious how you can watch any television. I'm quite sure that homosexuals, drug addicts, adulterers and all sorts of sinners write, direct and produce many of the shows that are on television each week.

NBC affiliate WTWO has announced they will NOT air this show. I urge all to contact their local NBC station and ask to remove the show. It is an anti-Christian.

I can not speak for everyone, but the reason for the boycott is not because of the 'sinfulness' of the show's directors or producers, but because of how the show is trying to portray Christians, and more specifically, the clergy.

This is far from the norm or the standard for the Christian life. I would argue that it is just a backdoor attempt to put a bad spin on Christianity.

I am a Christian & watched most of last night's 2 hr episode. I don't think there's much cause for concern. Yes the show is offensive & completely unrealistic, but it's such a stupid show it can't possibly remain on air long. It's overblown, obvious, & unfunny. Sure TV panders to the lowest possible intelligence level, but this one is ridiculous. There is nothing clever, subtle or thought-proviking about the show. Every point is made glaringly obvious; every idea so overblown an ape couldn't miss it. Even the average viewing public should be insulted. It can't last.
