Tradition vs. Traditionalism

Tradition is the living faith of the dead, traditionalism is the dead faith of the living.

It is important to look to the Fathers of the Faith for wisdom and guidance. To much we grab and verse out of the bible and say 'This means this to me' and since it is in the bible it must be true. Or we reject anything that is considered to be tradition or 'old school' just because it isn't the latest new thing.

Although we can go to the opposite extreme and stick to our traditions just because that is the way it has (therefore should) be done.

Both are wrong and both are used by the Devil to pull us from our walk with God. Once again we must walk straight and narrow road. Walk with wisdom and love. Walk with an abhorrence of sin but a love for the lost.
